It's in colour because that's what the publisher requested, and I find it more visually appealing.

Maybe someone needs to stand up for their work and fight for what they believe in. If one anonymous poster is going to get someones girlfriends nickers in a twist maybe they shouldnt take themselves too seriously.
i love your comic and the rest of your work.. you've got to be able to stand up for yourself instead of hide behind publisher's requests.. you like it in colour and your obviously excited about it in colour and being published but you've got to be able to stand for what you love and explain decisions even when it is only to a bitching anonymous poster.

I found out about this comic through a friend of a friend and they talk it up heaps!!
I dont know what they see in it but its appauling to think this is what our generations comics are coming to! Wise cracks on the serious issue of homelessness and alcohol abuse are a disgusting way to gain an awareness of this devestating issue. What are we teaching our children. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Andy, you may not be anonymous, but you sure as hell are bitching as much as the other guy.

I stated my case, that I find the colour version more visually appealling and that colour is what was requested by the publisher. My next comment was a tongue in cheek response to my girlfriend's. I don't see the point in standing up much more because the guy was obviously an arsehole.

Thank you for the compliments though.

Hey Iv.
We've been big fans of your comics for ages we've told all our friends and even started a club!
But all this negative feedback really bums down the comic and it looses its edge and class.
its kinda bad we spose that people are crackin at homeless people and stuff...
So consider this our notice..

Ashlee. Thank you for posting, I appreciate it. The idea is not to make fun of homeless people, quite on the contrary, actually. It's a satire of lifestyle programs that tell people how to live. I've just flipped the idea on it's head, making it centre around someone with real life experience. I tried to have some fun with the visuals, and gags. I don't think homelessness should be ignored, or patronised in anyway. They can be total asshole characters if they want, but they can also be loveable. Sydney's a bit of both.

I make fun of homeless people all the time. If you ever visit Vancouver, you'll know why. (99% of the homeless I see in Vancouver are crackheads)

CragK, could you say that again without all that shit in your mouth?

I'm sure you must be choking on your own crap. Please, just do us all a favour and spit it out.

I heard about the game you were making based on this comic. I think you should get someone with a bit of knowledge on programming, maybe someone doing a degree in something like Software Engineering, or Computer Science. Those types of people are geniuses, and I envy them so much. Just the knowledge that they exist makes me proud to be a human being. On a side note, I like the comic.

Hello, Mr. D!

It is I (formerly Mr. X), dropping by to marvel at the little bit of controversy you've got going here. How anyone could think BHL isn't satirical is beyond me.

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. I'm about as busy as can be. I've started a new blog with the idea of taking a new approach to the whole blogging thing. Have a look if you get a chance.

Congratulations on all the progress you're making. Personally, I love BHL in color.
